The days are still hot and not much is growing, excitement builds for the fall crop season on our farm. This time of year is about anticipation, hard work, and the joy of cultivating the earth for its rewards. I am making final seed selections to grow this fall. I am prepping the soil by adding leaf and grass compost to the growing beds. This adds organic matter and helps adjust the PH of the soil. I am planting Marigolds as a cover crop for organic Nematode prevention. This will help the Tomatoes, Cucumbers, and Peppers. I cannot wait until the days are cooler so we can get planting.
See you next time...Farmer Jeff.
